Hi! I’m Shauna. I am a Social Worker, providing counselling and therapy services to the Gold Coast, Australia. I earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Griffith University in 2020, as well as other numerous trainings and certifications (which you can read about here).

I am a first generation Canadian, born in Toronto, Ontario, to a Trinidadian mother and Canada-born father who was raised by his adoptive Scottish parents. I immigrated to Australia in 2016, where I now call my home on the beautiful land of the Yugambeh language and Kombumerri people, also known as the Gold Coast, with my family.

I am an empathetic, warm and intuitive person. My aim is to create a safe and welcoming space to share what is on your mind, in your heart and body. I approach therapy from a person-centred, feminist, holistic, somatic and trauma-informed perspective. I believe that you are the expert of your own life, which means that I will meet you where you are at. Together, we will work through what feels relevant for you at the time of session.

I work with clients who are on a personal journey of self-discovery, who are wanting to enhance their relationship to the self, improve self-esteem, sense of worth, and who are searching for meaning from the experiences in their lives.  I support clients through a variety of life transitions, identify shifts, grief & loss, develop emotional regulation and coping skills.
